What is a Music PAT test? If you are a musician who has little experience of Health and Safety regulations, and I would hazard a guess that includes most musicians, then you might be unaware of the need to have a Music PAT carried out on your equipment before you perform in public.
Music PATs are essentially no different to any other form of PAT Testing. A fully qualified PAT Tester will arrive at your property and will conduct a series of inspections and assessments of the electrical appliances that you would use when you perform live in public. Your electrical instruments, microphones, amps etc. will all be plugged into a PAT Testing machine to check that there are no malfunctions or faults inside them. Visual checks will also be carried out on all of them to make sure nothing has been damaged to dangerous levels. The PAT Tester will be careful with all of the delicate and sensitive equipment in his Music PAT inspections.
